Nearly 200 robots are now in operation at a new intelligent production and logistics facility built by Guozi Robotics for TZ Group’s greenfield factory, according to a joint announcement from Zhejiang Guozi Robotics Co., Ltd and TZ Group. The project, based in Hangzhou, China, aims to fully automate excavator production and logistics processes using a diverse fleet of robots, including mobile swarms, gantry systems, cobots, turnover units, and autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs).
The facility addresses long-standing challenges in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing by eliminating the need for re-tooling and enhancing production flexibility. The system is underpinned by Guozi’s proprietary Line-Side Control System (LCS) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES), which integrate data between shop-floor machinery and plant-level management.
The logistics network incorporates a three-dimensional distribution layout, classifying materials by size and type, and deploying AI-coordinated AGVs such as ANTS lifting units and PICKING multi-layer robots. These operate with centimetre-level precision to manage transfers between racks, bins, and pallets, enabling automated material handling from warehouse to workstation.
