AgiBot has announced plans to establish a robotics and AI solutions enterprise in Kazakhstan. The initiative follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding at the Digital Almaty 2025 forum between Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiev, and representatives from AgiBot, private equity fund ewpartners, and Qazaqstan Investment Corporation.
The partnership will involve the creation of a joint venture aimed at producing and implementing robotics and AI technologies in Kazakhstan. This marks AgiBot’s first localization of production in the region, with plans to use Kazakhstan as a base for both local deployment and further exports. Founded in February 2023, AgiBot focuses on developing general-purpose humanoid robots for various applications, ranging from industrial operations to household tasks. By December 2024, the company had produced 1,000 units at its Shanghai facility. As part of its expansion in Kazakhstan, AgiBot also plans to establish a “data factory” in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development and Aerospace Industry to support the training of robots and robotic systems.
The project will be financed with contributions from ewpartners and Qazaqstan Investment Corporation. Additionally, AgiBot aims to set up a joint research and development center and an exhibition showcasing its prototype robots at the Alem AI International Center for Artificial Intelligence. The company will also collaborate with local universities to launch research initiatives and provide student training in robot assembly.
