MWC25 Barcelona, one of the largest global events focused on connectivity, concluded with 109,000 attendees from 205 countries and territories. The event, organized by the GSMA, featured discussions on artificial intelligence, mobile technology, and the evolving role of digital connectivity in business and society.
The conference hosted more than 2,900 exhibitors, sponsors, and partners, along with over 1,200 speakers, 41% of whom were women. The GSMA Ministerial Programme brought together 188 delegations from 148 countries and 40 intergovernmental organizations, including 66 ministers and 111 regulatory authorities. The 4YFN startup platform featured over 1,000 startup exhibitors, nearly 380 speakers, and over 900 investors managing a collective fund of €60 billion.
John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA Ltd., emphasized the impact of the discussions held during the event, stating that “MWC is where industries meet, and this year’s event showed just how fast technology is reshaping the world around us.” Mats Granryd, Director General of the GSMA, noted that this was his final MWC in the role, reflecting on the event’s evolution and the transition to incoming Director General Vivek Badrinath.
The event also featured Talent Arena, organized by Mobile World Capital Barcelona, which was co-located at Fira Montjuïc and attracted more than 20,000 attendees, including senior professionals and young talent.
MWC25 Barcelona marks the beginning of GSMA’s global event series for the year. The next edition, MWC25 Shanghai, is scheduled for June 18-20, 2025. Additionally, GSMA announced the inaugural MWC25 Doha, set to take place on November 25-26, 2025, with a focus on digital advancements in the Middle East.
