Humanoid robotics developer Apptronik has raised an additional $520 million through an extension of its Series A funding round to accelerate commercial production of its Apollo humanoid robot and expand deployment activities.
The new capital brings the company’s total Series A funding to more than $935 million, placing Apptronik among the best-funded players in the emerging humanoid robotics sector. The round includes continued support from investors such as Google and Mercedes-Benz, as well as participation from new backers including John Deere and the Qatar Investment Authority.
Focus on Production and Deployment
Apptronik said the funding will be used primarily to scale up manufacturing of Apollo and to expand commercial and pilot deployments in industrial environments. The company also plans to invest in additional facilities for engineering, robot training, and data collection.
Apollo is designed as a general-purpose humanoid platform for use in manufacturing, logistics, and warehouse operations. The robot is intended to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks in environments built for humans, without requiring major infrastructure changes.
The company has been running pilot projects with industrial partners and is working to move from limited deployments to larger-scale commercial rollouts over the coming years.
Partnerships and Technology Development
As part of its development strategy, Apptronik works with industrial and technology partners to improve Apollo’s hardware and software capabilities. The company also collaborates with Google DeepMind on the integration of advanced AI models, with the aim of improving perception, autonomy, and adaptability in real-world settings.
