Mantis Robotics has introduced the MR-X, a dual-arm robot designed for industrial, logistics and retail automation without safety fences or cages. The robot can lift loads of up to 70 pounds and reach movement speeds of 10.6 metres per second. Its compact design supports fixed installations and mobile robotic systems, with potential applications including assembly, material transfer and package sorting.
The MR-X uses Mantis Robotics’ SafetyCore platform to monitor its surroundings continuously and respond when a person enters its path. According to the company, the system processes environmental data in real time, reducing the need for external sensors, designated exclusion zones and other safety infrastructure.
The robot also includes code-free programming tools intended to simplify deployment in environments where it operates near human workers. Its dual-arm configuration is designed for tasks requiring coordinated movement, strength and dexterity. The MR-X is based on technology used in the company’s MR-1 robot, which is certified to ISO 10218 and ISO 13849 standards. Mantis Robotics said the MR-1 also operates at speeds of up to 10.6 metres per second without fencing.
