Oshkosh Corporation has been named a winner of the CES Picks Awards for its Hail-able Autonomous Refuse Robot – Electric (HARR-E). The award, presented at CES 2025, honors innovative products and creative solutions in the consumer technology and custom installation sectors, recognizing brands that demonstrate excellence in their fields. HARR-E, Oshkosh’s autonomous electric refuse collection robot, offers on-demand refuse and recycling pickup through a smartphone app or virtual at-home assistant.
The robot uses AI-enabled navigation and advanced sensors to autonomously collect trash and return to a central collection point. According to Jay Iyengar, Oshkosh Corporation’s executive vice president and chief technology and strategic sourcing officer, the development of HARR-E reflects the company’s broader focus on electrification, AI, autonomy, and connectivity. The robot is designed to optimize efficiency and logistics, providing modern refuse collection solutions for communities and businesses. Oshkosh’s Pratt Miller division developed the system to complement traditional collection services and enhance sustainability efforts.
The CES Picks Awards panel, composed of industry experts, noted the excellence and innovation demonstrated by this year’s winners, stating that the selected products address key challenges across various industries. In addition to HARR-E, Oshkosh showcased other advanced technologies at CES 2025, including an all-electric refuse and recycling vehicle, autonomous systems to improve workplace safety, and AI-enabled tools like the Collision Avoidance Mitigation System (CAMS) for emergency vehicles. These advancements underscore Oshkosh’s commitment to supporting essential workers and the communities they serve.
