Aviator extends robot-assisted de-icing contract with Finnair

by Marco van der Hoeven

Aviator Airport Alliance has renewed its agreement with Finnair to continue providing robot-assisted de-icing and other winter services at Helsinki Airport through 2028. The contract, covering the 2025–2028 winter seasons, will be executed by Aviator Airport Services Finland, a subsidiary of the company.

The agreement includes the use of automated NORDIC DINO robots in de-icing operations, alongside nine de-icing units operating at two designated pads at Helsinki Airport. Aviator’s responsibilities also cover additional winter services such as aircraft heating and engine covering.

Aviator Airport Alliance is part of Avia Solutions Group, a global provider of ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services. Finnair, Finland’s national carrier, operates a route network connecting Helsinki with destinations across Europe, North America, and Asia.
