China Pushes Global Humanoid Robot Deployment with AiMOGA initiative

by Pieter Werner

China is intensifying efforts to promote the adoption of humanoid robotics through public-private collaboration, as AiMOGA Robotics announced an international expansion initiative centered on retail-focused humanoid robots. The announcement was made at the company’s first Partnership Conference, held in Beijing and attended by over 3,000 automotive dealers. The event was co-hosted with Chinese automaker Chery Auto Group.

AiMOGA’s humanoid robots are designed for commercial deployment, particularly in automotive retail environments. The company reported that its robots have been integrated into dealership operations to greet customers, demonstrate vehicle features, and answer questions using walk-around interactions. These robots incorporate Chery’s autonomous driving systems and intelligent cockpit software, merged with AiMOGA’s proprietary large language model, CheryGPT.

According to AiMOGA, pilot deployments in markets such as Malaysia and Hong Kong have shown early results, including increased customer engagement and reduced workloads at dealership front desks. The company has deployed 220 humanoid robots globally as of April 2025, marking what it describes as the first large-scale commercial rollout of such systems by a Chinese enterprise.

The initiative reflects a broader trend within the global automotive sector, where companies including Tesla, Toyota, and XPENG are exploring the use of embodied AI. Market forecasts cited by AiMOGA suggest the humanoid robotics sector could surpass €50 billion in value by 2035.

At the conference, AiMOGA presented live demonstrations of its “smart showroom companion” robot, which is positioned as a tool for improving customer experience and supporting sales processes. The company also outlined plans to expand the robots’ use beyond car dealerships to shopping malls, service centers, and residential settings.

AiMOGA’s strategy emphasizes the reuse of hardware and modular AI systems that adapt to various application scenarios. Its development model leverages partnerships in supply chain, engineering, and AI infrastructure to support scalability. The move aligns with China’s broader technological development goals, including the integration of AI in public and commercial services. By enabling real-world applications of humanoid robots, companies like AiMOGA aim to position themselves in the emerging global market for embodied AI solutions.
