DOBOT opens Malaysia subsidiary for smart manufacturing

Chinese robotics company DOBOT has announced the official opening of its Malaysia subsidiary, expanding its presence in Southeast Asia and aiming to support the region’s shift toward smart manufacturing. The new office marks part of the company’s broader global strategy, which includes enhancing local partnerships and deploying collaborative robotics solutions.

According to DOBOT co-founder Junjie Xie, the company’s entry into Malaysia aligns with its goal to contribute to the country’s Industry 4.0 agenda by providing advanced automation technologies and services.

Founded in 2015, DOBOT specializes in collaborative robotic arms and automation systems used across sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, and retail. The company reports shipping more than 80,000 units globally and serving over 6,000 educational institutions as well as over 80 multinational corporations listed among the Fortune 500.

DOBOT Malaysia will focus on four strategic areas. These include offering customized robotics solutions for industries such as electronics manufacturing and quality control; expanding partnerships with educational institutions to develop training centers and talent development programs; establishing a local service network for technical support and training; and fostering an innovation ecosystem through collaboration with system integrators and technology providers.

The company states that its local operations are intended to help Malaysian manufacturers enhance efficiency and competitiveness through automation and digital integration.

DOBOT maintains a presence in multiple countries, including the United States, Germany, Japan, and Thailand. The company is currently ranked as the top exporter of collaborative robots from China and distributes its products to over 100 markets globally.
