DreamFace Technologies and USVetServ have formed a partnership to introduce DreamFace’s Ryan wellness robot in healthcare settings serving veterans. Ryan is designed to provide conversation, entertainment and guided activities, including games, sing-alongs, meditation and exercise. The robot uses artificial intelligence, facial recognition and speech-processing technology to tailor interactions to individual users’ interests.
USVetServ CEO Don Lee said the technology could supplement care teams by providing companionship and recreational activities. DreamFace CEO Mohammad Mahoor said Ryan is intended to support social engagement and cognitive health while assisting caregivers.
USVetServ supplies medical and technology products to government healthcare agencies serving veterans, active-duty personnel and other public-sector users. Its portfolio includes wellness robots, virtual and augmented reality clinical tools, information technology platforms and pharmaceutical shipping services. DreamFace develops socially interactive robots for healthcare environments. The company positions Ryan as a tool to augment caregivers rather than replace them.
