DroidUp Shows ‘Biomimetic’ Humanoid Robot

The robot is also reported to feature an artificial body temperature system

Chinese robotics company DroidUp has presented a humanoid robot called Moya during recent public demonstrations in China. Moya is described by its developer as a biomimetic humanoid robot. The design focuses on reproducing human proportions and movement patterns, with articulated joints, a human-scale body, and soft exterior materials. According to publicly available information, Moya is equipped with cameras and sensors that support visual perception and interaction. These systems allow the robot to track people in its surroundings and adjust its gaze and head position accordingly.

The robot is also reported to feature an artificial body temperature system, intended to keep its external surface at a level comparable to that of human skin. This is designed to contribute to more natural physical interaction. The company has stated that the robot’s walking gait is designed to resemble human movement. However, detailed technical documentation and independent performance evaluations have not been published.

Demonstrations and Interaction

Public demonstrations have focused on basic mobility and social interaction. In recorded presentations, Moya walks across indoor spaces, responds to visual stimuli, and performs simple gestures and facial expressions. The robot has primarily been shown in controlled environments such as exhibitions and demonstration areas. No field trials in operational settings have been announced. DroidUp has not disclosed detailed information about production volumes, pricing, or confirmed customers. There has been no official announcement regarding large-scale deployment or commercial availability.
