Ericsson has deployed a humanoid robot developed by Realbotix Corp. at its Imagine Studio experience center in Plano, Texas, where it will be used for workforce training and visitor engagement activities. The robot incorporates Realbotix’s proprietary vision technology and is intended to support interactive experiences for employees, visitors, and students.
According to the companies, the humanoid robot is equipped with vision capabilities that allow it to autonomously detect movement and facial expressions, recognize colors, remember faces, and read text. These functions are designed to enable responsive interaction during conversations with humans in workplace and public-facing settings.
The deployment is centered on several use cases within the Imagine Studio. The robot is expected to support employee training and human resources guidance by providing individualized development information. It will also function as an interactive greeter for visitors to the studio, facilitating engagement through conversational interaction. In addition, the robot will be used in campus outreach efforts, offering career guidance to students and presenting information about opportunities in the technology sector.
The system is built on Realbotix’s modular hardware platform and AI-agnostic architecture, which the company says allows the robot to be adapted for different real-world applications across corporate and educational environments.
“Ericsson’s adoption of Realbotix robots underscores the growing confidence in AI-powered humanoid robotics, bridging technology with real-world applications,” said Andrew Kiguel, chief executive officer of Realbotix. “This milestone represents a leap for Realbotix, positioning our humanoid robots as integral partners that will shape the workplace of the future.”
