Estonian Rollo Robotics Raises €3.7 Million for Monowheel Security Robots

by Pieter Werner

Rollo Robotics has raised €3.7 million in a pre-seed funding round to support the development and commercialization of its autonomous monowheel security robot. The round was led by FoodLabs and PROTOTYPE, with additional backing from Enterprise Estonia’s RUP programme.

The Tallinn-based company was founded in 2025 by Arno Kütt and Sander Sebastian Agur and has been operating in stealth while developing gyroscopic stabilization technology designed to enable a single-wheel robot to operate autonomously in security and surveillance settings. The company positions its technology as an alternative to multi-wheeled robotic platforms, emphasizing a narrow profile intended to navigate confined urban and industrial environments.

According to the company, the new capital will be used to further mature its stabilization systems and to move from advanced research and development toward production readiness. This includes hardening hardware and software to operate in demanding conditions such as extreme weather and high-traffic areas, as well as scaling supply chains to support early pilot deployments.

Sander Sebastian Agur said the funding enables the company to bring its monowheel platform to market, framing the technology as a new approach to autonomous patrolling. Arno Kütt added that the focus is on translating an engineering concept into a deployable product for security applications.

Investors described the company as an example of engineering talent emerging from Estonia and pointed to potential demand for autonomous systems to protect physical infrastructure. Andreas Klinger of PROTOTYPE cited growing security needs as a driver for robotic solutions, while FoodLabs’ Julius Strauss highlighted perceived efficiency gaps in the security sector that the company aims to address.

Rollo Robotics is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and is developing what it describes as a stable autonomous monowheel robot intended for security and surveillance use cases.
