Exwayz Raises €1 Million for Robot Navigation Without GPS

by Pieter Werner

Paris-based software company Exwayz has raised €1 million in a round led by CentraleSupélec Venture. The amount includes a grant from the i-Lab Innovation Competition under the France 2030 programme. According to the company, the funds will be used to advance research and development, reinforce technical teams and support the commercial rollout of its 3D localization software for autonomous systems.

Exwayz develops SLAM software designed to provide real-time, centimeter-level positioning for LiDAR-equipped mobile robots operating in environments where GNSS signals are unreliable. The company reports that its technology is used in logistics, industrial inspection and mobility applications.

The fundraising is accompanied by new partnerships with Embotech in Switzerland and Cyvl.ai in the United States. Embotech plans to use Exwayz software for autonomous truck navigation in ports and logistics hubs. The two companies plan to equip 30 autonomous trucks operating at the Port of Rotterdam in 2026. Cyvl.ai, which produces geospatial data for road infrastructure management, uses Exwayz technology to generate high-precision 3D maps for municipalities in the United States.

The company also announced that former Stellantis executive Yves Bonnefont has joined as a non-executive advisor. Bonnefont previously led DS Automobiles and oversaw software and digital transformation efforts at Stellantis.
