The Flippy Fry Station robot is being deployed more broadly in restaurants across North America, automating frying tasks such as cooking French fries, onion rings, chicken, and tacos. Designed to address labor shortages and improve kitchen safety, the robot is said to operate with high precision and is powered by an artificial intelligence system that aims to support 99% uptime and includes automated troubleshooting features.
The robot is available through a robotics-as-a-service model, offering restaurants the technology for a monthly fee without upfront costs. It is compliant with US federal labor regulations, allowing operation by employees under the age of 18, and aims to reduce reliance on manual labor for repetitive and hazardous tasks. To support this expansion, Miso Robotics, the developer of Flippy Fry Station, has partnered with Roboworx, a field service provider for robotic systems. Roboworx will manage installations, preventative maintenance, on-demand repairs, and customer support. The partnership is intended to ensure consistent system performance as weekly deployments continue through September. Flippy Fry Station is currently in use at 20 locations, including major chains such as Jack in the Box and White Castle.
