Algorized, a startup developing artificial intelligence for people-sensing applications, has joined MassRobotics to further its work on technologies aimed at improving safety in environments where humans and robots operate together. The company’s participation in the Boston-based innovation hub is intended to accelerate the development and deployment of its edge-based sensor fusion platform, which enables real-time detection of human presence and monitoring of vital signs without physical contact.
The technology is designed for use in settings such as factory floors, warehouses, and other industrial environments where robotic systems and human workers interact. By integrating data from multiple sensing modalities, including ultra-wideband (UWB) and millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar, Algorized’s platform enables robots to identify body movement and monitor respiratory and heart activity without requiring wearable devices. This capability is intended to support more adaptive and context-aware safety protocols in automated systems.
Natalya Lopareva, CEO of Algorized, stated that the company’s goal is to enable safer collaboration between humans and machines. The platform’s edge AI processing supports real-time decision-making, aiming to reduce the risk of accidents and enhance situational awareness in robotic environments.
As a resident startup of MassRobotics, Algorized joins a network of robotics and automation companies focused on advancing intelligent systems. MassRobotics leadership highlighted the safety implications of Algorized’s work and its alignment with broader efforts to develop responsible and human-aware automation technologies.
Algorized’s entry into the MassRobotics community marks a step in its ongoing efforts to scale its safety-focused sensing solutions across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, automotive, and infrastructure.
