IntBot and Certis to Develop Humanoid Robot Applications in Singapore

by Pieter Werner

IntBot and Certis Group have formed a strategic partnership to explore and develop socially intelligent robot applications for enterprise and public-facing environments in Singapore. The collaboration will combine IntBot’s General Social Intelligence technology with Certis’ experience in designing and managing complex operations. The companies plan to work on humanoid concierge and service-assistance applications that can be integrated into live operating environments, with a focus on safety, reliability and service delivery.

The companies said the collaboration will support customer-facing uses including wayfinding, visitor assistance, multilingual engagement, customer service support and frontline operational support. Target environments include transit, hospitality, healthcare, retail and public venues.

IntBot Chief Executive and co-founder Lei Yang said the development of embodied AI increasingly depends on robots’ ability to interact with people in public spaces. “With multimodal models maturing, the decisive bottleneck for embodied AI shifts from task manipulation to human interaction,” Yang said. “A robot’s success in public spaces is increasingly measured by its ability to engage people, and Singapore’s smart-infrastructure leadership makes it the ideal launchpad for Physical AI. Partnering with Certis ensures our intelligence layer is backed by world-class operational reliability.”

Certis said the partnership aligns with its robotics strategy, which focuses on integrating robotics into operations alongside people, processes, systems and machines. Certis’ role will include helping define use cases, workflows and deployment requirements for humanoid robots intended to support frontline teams.

Raahul Kumar, Certis’ Chief Executive, International & Robotics and Chief Strategy Officer, said the next phase of enterprise robotics would depend on how robots operate with people in real environments. “Certis designs and runs complex frontline environments every day, so our role is to help turn promising robotics capabilities into practical operating models,” Kumar said. “By combining IntBot’s social intelligence technology with our experience in operational design and deployment, we can create humanoid robot applications that support frontline teams in demanding roles and make everyday public interactions simpler and more intuitive.”

Certis has also been named by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority as a design partner for a large-scale, multi-operator robotics testbed in a live mixed-use public environment at Punggol Digital District.
