LG and NVIDIA Expand Collaboration Across AI and Robots

LG and NVIDIA are broadening their strategic collaboration across physical AI, AI infrastructure and mobility, with plans to combine NVIDIA’s AI platforms with LG’s manufacturing, energy, telecommunications, electronics and enterprise technology capabilities.

The companies held a senior management meeting in Seoul attended by LG Corp. Chairman and CEO Kwang Mo Koo, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang and other executives. The discussions focused on mid- to long-term cooperation in industrial AI applications, robotics, AI data centers and software-defined vehicles.

In physical AI and robotics, LG and NVIDIA plan to work on AI-enabled manufacturing systems that connect procurement, production, logistics and delivery through real-time data and AI. LG will contribute manufacturing data and production technology experience from its global sites, while NVIDIA will provide technologies including NVIDIA Isaac, Omniverse and Cosmos for robotics, simulation and AI development.

The companies also plan to cooperate on robotics development, including NVIDIA’s next-generation robot foundation model GR00T. Their work is expected to cover data collection, data generation, simulation, training and robot actions across applications such as humanoid robots and logistics robots.

Several LG affiliates are expected to take part in the collaboration. LG Innotek will develop sensing modules and optical components for robotics and NVIDIA AI infrastructure. LG CNS will integrate NVIDIA robotics technologies, including Isaac, Cosmos and Isaac GR00T, into its industrial robot platform PhysicalWorks for manufacturing and logistics sites.

The collaboration also covers AI infrastructure. LG Electronics plans to work with NVIDIA on thermal management technologies for AI data centers, including coolant distribution units, cold plates and prefabricated modular designs aligned with NVIDIA’s DSX reference design. LG Energy Solution will develop 800V direct current data center power solutions with NVIDIA for next-generation AI factories. LG CNS plans to use the NVIDIA DSX AI factory reference design in AI data center projects, while LG Uplus plans to build large-scale AI infrastructure using NVIDIA Rubin GPUs.

In mobility, LG Electronics will integrate its in-vehicle infotainment capabilities with NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion to advance systems including next-generation advanced driver assistance technologies. LG Innotek will develop automotive components designed for the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion architecture, including communication modules, sensing solutions and automotive lighting systems.

LG and NVIDIA also plan to expand their technology alliance around LG’s EXAONE AI ecosystem. LG AI Research intends to use NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, NVIDIA Nemotron, NVIDIA NeMo and NVIDIA TensorRT-LLM to improve training efficiency and inference performance for EXAONE. LG also plans to increase use of NVIDIA-powered AI agents across the group, including its enterprise AI agent service ChatEXAONE.

Kwang Mo Koo said the two companies discussed cooperation aimed at transforming future industries and that NVIDIA’s AI ecosystem direction aligns with LG’s goal of creating changes in daily life and industrial settings. Huang said Korea’s strengths in manufacturing, mechatronics and AI could make robotics and physical AI a growth area, and said NVIDIA’s DSX and physical AI platforms could support LG’s work in homes, vehicles, factories and AI infrastructure.
