Meta and EssilorLuxottica have introduced a new line of AI-enabled eyewear under the Meta Glasses brand, expanding their portfolio of smart glasses with a range of new frame styles, colors, and lens options. The products start at $299 and are being offered through Meta’s retail channels and selected third-party retailers.
Meta Glasses are the first eyewear products to launch with Meta AI powered by Muse Spark, a multimodal artificial intelligence model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs. According to the company, the system is designed to provide context-aware assistance, answer questions, interpret visual information, and support tasks such as scheduling, navigation, and daily activity management.
The company also outlined several software enhancements. A new dynamic photo feature automatically captures multiple frames and recommends a preferred image while allowing users to select an alternative. Meta said pedestrian navigation for display-free glasses is planned for a future release. The live translation feature is also being expanded with support for additional languages, including Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, and Korean, bringing the total number of supported languages to 20.
Each pair of Meta Glasses is supplied with a foldable charging case that provides up to 40 hours of additional battery life. Meta also introduced a separate charging stand compatible with selected Meta smart-glasses models, including display-free Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta HSTN, and Meta Glasses products.
Core features include access to Meta AI through a dedicated action button, open-ear speakers for audio playback and calls, a multi-microphone system designed to reduce wind noise, hands-free photo and video capture, privacy controls, and battery life of more than eight hours on a single charge.
Meta Glasses are available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Australia.
