New AI-based humanoid robot opens for pre order

by Marco van der Hoeven

Project Eliza Wakes Up has announced the launch of pre-orders for its humanoid AI robot, Eliza. Developed by Ryze Labs and powered by the ElizaOS operating system, the robot integrates AI, blockchain, and advanced robotics to provide personalized, human-like companionship. The project represents an effort to merge digital intelligence with physical form, featuring a robot equipped with emotional intelligence and capabilities to interact in natural, conversational ways.

Eliza stands 5’10” and incorporates a silicone animatronic face designed to express emotions. The robot is built with dexterous manipulators, allowing it to perform precise tasks such as serving drinks, operating tools, and engaging in physical activities like running. The system supports customized clothing and accessories, and an installation framework ensures ease of integration into various environments. Additionally, its advanced conversational AI utilizes a large language model to deliver dynamic, real-time responses.

Matthew Graham, advisor to the project and managing partner at Ryze Labs, stated that Eliza represents a pivotal step in robotics, merging cutting-edge technology to redefine human-machine interaction. Engineer Nick Liverman of Old World Labs, who contributed to the physical design, highlighted the robot’s combination of physical agility and AI-driven personality.

Beyond functional applications such as scheduling, document processing, and blockchain transaction execution, Eliza is intended to form emotional connections with users, responding to social and emotional cues. Shaw, founder of Eliza Labs, emphasized the project’s focus on bridging the gap between digital intelligence and human interaction.

The humanoid robot is priced starting at $420,000.
