Palladyne AI Corp. and FANUC America have entered a strategic collaboration to integrate Palladyne AI’s physical artificial intelligence software with FANUC’s industrial robotic platforms. The companies plan to develop robotic capabilities for manufacturing, warehousing and logistics applications, with a focus on simplifying deployment and enabling robots to adapt to changing operating conditions.
Under the collaboration, Palladyne AI will optimize its Palladyne IQ software platform for FANUC robotic systems. The companies will also work on AI-driven motion planning, adaptive robot behavior, teleoperation and human-assisted learning capabilities.
Other areas of work will include simulation and AI model training, validation of customer applications and the development of standardized deployment processes for system integrators and end users.
Palladyne IQ is designed to provide industrial robots with software capabilities for interpreting and responding to their operating environments. The platform incorporates motion planning, adaptive behavior, teleoperation, human-assisted learning, simulation and model training.
Palladyne AI and FANUC America said the collaboration is intended to broaden the range of tasks that can be automated and reduce the complexity associated with deploying industrial robots. The companies are targeting applications for manufacturers, warehouse operators, logistics providers and system integrators.
