PepsiCo and AgiBot show branded humanoid robot Pepsi FIZZ BOT

by Marco van der Hoeven

PepsiCo has rolled out its first-ever branded humanoid robot, the “Pepsi FIZZ BOT,” in collaboration with Chinese robotics company AgiBot, aiming to bring a tech twist to how the brand connects with consumers. The robot made its debut in a promotional video featuring Chinese influencer Zhihui Jun and football legend David Beckham, marking the start of a high-profile campaign.

The FIZZ BOT is being promoted as an AI-powered humanoid designed to create fun, interactive experiences around the Pepsi brand. While PepsiCo hasn’t shared many technical details about what the robot can actually do, the campaign highlights its role as a digital ambassador meant to attract attention and spark conversations.

This isn’t the company’s first step into robotics. PepsiCo has previously tested delivery robots on college campuses to bring snacks directly to students. The FIZZ BOT, however, focuses more on marketing and consumer interaction than logistics.

The launch taps into a growing trend: big consumer brands using robotics and AI to make their marketing more engaging and memorable. As competition for consumer attention ramps up, companies like PepsiCo are looking for new ways to stand out—especially with younger, tech-savvy audiences.

It’s still unclear whether the FIZZ BOT will be used beyond this campaign or if it’s just a one-off project. PepsiCo hasn’t said whether it plans to expand its use of humanoid robots or partner with robotics firms for future rollouts.
