PL-Universe Robotics, a Chinese company specializing in embodied intelligence technologies, has entered an exclusive global online sales partnership with JD.com. The collaboration was announced during the company’s “Robotics 2025 Presentation” and “JD.com Deep Collaboration Launch Ceremony” held at JD.com’s headquarters in Beijing’s Yizhuang District.
The event marked the launch of several new industrial robotics products, including the “ProWhite Robot 2.0,” a wheeled embodied robot designed for manufacturing applications, and “PL-WitHand,” a multi-fingered dexterous robotic hand. Four types of end effectors were also introduced, intended for functions such as locking, dispensing, lubrication, and soldering.
According to PL-Universe, the ProWhite Robot 2.0 incorporates features for high precision and adaptability, aiming to serve a range of industrial production environments. The PL-WitHand operates through a tendon-linked hybrid transmission system and is controlled by the company’s proprietary ProxiGrasp algorithm, which allows for fine motor control across 20 degrees of freedom.
As part of the new partnership, PL-Universe and JD.com plan to collaborate on product distribution, overseas market development, and service system integration. The companies stated that the initiative is intended to advance the industrialization and multi-scenario use of embodied AI robotics.
The company also introduced the “Craftsmanship Universe” program, which seeks to apply embodied intelligence to preserve and replicate artisanal manufacturing techniques.
The presentation was attended by more than 100 participants, including representatives from the home appliance, automotive components, and semiconductor sectors, as well as members of the media. Company executives, including PL-Universe co-founders GE Jin and WU Chaoxin, and the head of JD Retail’s 3C Digital Products Group, spoke about the applications of embodied intelligence and the development of related industrial ecosystems.
