RoboSense has announced the production and delivery of its one-millionth LiDAR unit, marking what the company describes as an industry-first milestone. The Shenzhen-based AI-driven robotics technology firm held a ceremony on February 21 at its Beta Manufacturing Base in Nanshan, where it commemorated the milestone with a custom-plated E1R LiDAR. The unit was subsequently delivered on February 24 to Humanoid Robot (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. for integration into the “Qinglong” humanoid robot.
The Qinglong humanoid robot, developed by Humanoid Robot (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., is an open-source, full-size humanoid platform designed for multi-modal mobility, perception, and interaction. Equipped with a biomimetic torso and humanoid motion control, it features up to 43 active degrees of freedom, a peak joint torque of 400 N•m, and computing power of 400 TOPs. The robot is capable of walking at a speed of 1 meter per second while carrying a 40-kilogram load.
Xing Boyang, R&D Director at Humanoid Robot (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., stated that the National and Local Co-built Humanoid Robotics Innovation Center had already integrated RoboSense’s E1R LiDAR into its development of the Qinglong platform.
RoboSense positions itself as a provider of incremental components and solutions for the AI robotics industry, leveraging its expertise in automotive intelligence. Earlier this year, the company announced a robotics platform strategy and introduced new products, including the E1R and Airy LiDAR for robotics, an active camera, and a dexterous robotic hand named Papert 2.0. The company expects its technology to support the growth and commercialization of humanoid robotics across multiple applications.
