Robot.com will deploy a fleet of autonomous robots in Cannes from 22 to 26 June 2026 to demonstrate how robots can be used as mobile advertising platforms. The company has been named official Robotics Innovation Partner for PMG’s AI & Tech Sandbox, an activation aimed at marketing executives, brand leaders, media buyers and creative agencies during the advertising industry’s Cannes week.
The deployment will include Robot.com’s R-kiwi robot, several new robot formats and the latest version of R-ads, the company’s mobile out-of-home advertising platform. In practice, this means brands can use autonomous robots as moving media carriers for campaigns in public or event environments. Instead of placing advertising only on fixed billboards, screens or static installations, R-ads uses robots that can move through selected locations and present campaign messages as part of a controlled fleet.
Robot.com describes R-ads as a platform for “mobile, data-driven campaigns through a fleet of autonomous robots”. The company says the system has already been used in more than 100 brand activations across more than 20 countries. The press release does not specify which brands will use the robots in Cannes, what campaign data will be collected, or how the robots will be routed during the event.
At PMG’s AI & Tech Sandbox, Cannes attendees will be able to see the robots in an Innovation Gallery with displays and interactive demonstrations. Robot.com will also show products that have not yet been formally announced. The goal is to present robotics not only as an industrial or logistics technology, but also as a media channel for live brand activations.
Robot.com Co-Founder and President of Robotic Media Judah Longgrear will also take part in a founder session on 23 June. The session will focus on storytelling, authenticity, robotics and brand narrative. According to Longgrear, the company is not presenting robotics as a future concept for advertising, but as something that can already be deployed in campaigns.
“We’re not pitching a roadmap or asking anyone to imagine what robots might do for advertising in five years,” said Longgrear. “We’re deploying a full fleet during the world’s most-watched week in advertising, running live demos, and showing the people who set the industry’s direction what’s already possible. The time to start layering robots into campaigns isn’t coming. It’s already here.”
PMG says the AI & Tech Sandbox is intended to show practical applications of emerging technology rather than only discussing future possibilities. George Popstefanov, Founder and CEO of PMG, said the event is meant to “close the gap between curiosity and action” by showing how technology can address business challenges.
“Robot.com embodies that philosophy, and that alignment is what makes them a great partner for this event,” said Popstefanov. “They’re building and deploying autonomous robots at scale across industries and environments that need them now, and our Cannes activation gives attendees a chance to see this future of advertising media in motion.”
Robot.com positions the Cannes deployment as part of a broader expansion of its robot fleet across food automation, industrial operations and advertising. The company says it has more than 500 robots deployed across the United States, Canada, Dubai and the MENA region, and that its robots have completed more than 2.5 million tasks.
For marketers, the Cannes activation is mainly a demonstration of robots as mobile out-of-home media: autonomous units that can carry brand messages, move through physical environments and become part of an event or street-level campaign. The announcement also underlines a wider trend in advertising, where physical brand experiences are being combined with AI, automation and data-driven campaign management.
