Robotic vacuum cleaner has both wheels and legs

by Pieter Werner

Roborock presented a series of new household robotics products at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, including what the company describes as the first robotic vacuum to use a wheel-leg mobility architecture. The company also confirmed a commercial partnership with Real Madrid Football Club covering its vacuum cleaner product category.

The central product shown was the Roborock Saros Rover, a robotic vacuum designed with a two wheel-leg system intended to allow independent lifting, lowering, and adjustment of each wheel. According to the company, the configuration enables the device to navigate staircases, slopes, and multi-level thresholds while maintaining a level chassis. The system combines mechanical movement with artificial intelligence software, motion sensors, and three-dimensional spatial mapping to adapt to changes in surface height and geometry.

Roborock said the Saros Rover is intended for multi-storey homes and is capable of cleaning individual steps while ascending or descending staircases, including curved and carpeted stairs with raised edges. The company stated that the product remains in development and has not yet been assigned a commercial release date.

In addition to the Saros Rover, Roborock showcased several other household cleaning products planned for release in the first half of the year, including the Saros 20, Saros 20 Sonic, F25 ACE Pro, and Qrevo Curv 2 Flow robotic vacuum models. The company also displayed the RockMow X1 LiDAR, marking its planned entry into the United States market for robotic lawn-mowing equipment.

Alongside the product demonstrations, Roborock detailed the initial activation of its global partnership with Real Madrid Football Club. The agreement applies exclusively to Roborock’s vacuum cleaner portfolio and does not extend to other product categories. Under the partnership, Roborock branding and marketing initiatives are expected to appear across club platforms, including stadium exposure and promotional campaigns involving the men’s and women’s first teams.
