Serve Robotics and White Castle Launch Autonomous Delivery Through Uber Eats

by Pieter Werner

Serve Robotics has partnered with White Castle to deliver food orders using autonomous sidewalk robots through the Uber Eats platform. Customers ordering from White Castle within Serve Robotics’ delivery zones may receive their meals via the company’s delivery robots. The service is available in markets where Serve already operates robotic delivery, including Los Angeles, Miami, the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area, Atlanta, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale and Alexandria. Additional U.S. cities are planned.

Serve Robotics said its third-generation robots are designed to carry larger, temperature-sensitive food orders. The robots can deliver items such as White Castle’s sliders, chicken rings, mozzarella sticks, crinkle-cut fries and Crave Cases while maintaining food temperature.

Ali Kashani, chief executive officer of Serve Robotics, said the partnership connects automated delivery technology with the restaurant chain’s menu. “White Castle is a legendary brand that helped define convenient, fast meals, and we’re thrilled to bring that legacy into the future,” Kashani said.

Chris Shaffery, senior vice president of restaurant operations at White Castle, said the partnership adds another delivery option for customers. “Partnering with Serve Robotics gives us an exciting new way to combine convenience, technology, and great taste together, while allowing Cravers to enjoy their favorite items in a fun and sustainable way,” Shaffery said.

Serve Robotics, which separated from Uber Technologies in 2021, develops autonomous delivery robots designed to operate on sidewalks. The company said it has deployed more than 2,000 robots in the United States serving more than 3,600 restaurants. In 2026, Serve Robotics acquired Diligent Robotics, expanding into indoor service robots used in hospitals. White Castle, based in Columbus, operates nearly 350 restaurants in the United States. The chain was founded in 1921 and is known for its small square hamburgers known as sliders.
