UBTech Robotics grows sharply in 2025 as humanoid business scales up

by Pieter Werner

UBTech Robotics reported strong revenue growth in 2025, driven mainly by a sharp expansion in its humanoid robot business, but the company remained loss-making. Total revenue rose 53.3% year on year to RMB 2.001 billion. Gross profit increased 101.6% to RMB 753.8 million, and gross margin improved from 28.7% to 37.7%.

The main growth engine was UBTech’s full-size embodied intelligent humanoid robot business. Revenue from that segment reached about RMB 820.6 million in 2025, up from RMB 35.6 million in 2024, making it the company’s largest business line at 41.1% of total revenue. UBTech said sales volume in that category rose to 1,079 units, versus just 3 units a year earlier.

Losses narrowed, but profitability has not yet been reached. Net loss from continuing operations fell to RMB 789.8 million from RMB 1.16 billion in 2024. Net loss attributable to shareholders narrowed to RMB 703.2 million, compared with RMB 1.124 billion a year earlier. Basic and diluted loss per share improved to RMB 1.55 from RMB 2.67.

The rest of the portfolio showed a mixed picture. Revenue from “other intelligent robot products and services” declined 16.9% to RMB 628.7 million, while “other intelligent hardware devices” rose 6.4% to RMB 499.2 million. UBTech said some logistics robot and robotic service projects had not yet been delivered and accepted by year-end, which affected reported revenue in part of the business. The board did not recommend a dividend for 2025.
