US Department of Defense Certifies Robot Kitchen

by Marco van der Hoeven

Circus, a German company specializing in AI software and robotics for the food service industry, has received official certification as a supplier for the U.S. government, including the Department of Defense. This designation permits the company to participate in federal procurement programs and contract opportunities involving U.S. military and government agencies.

The approval marks the first time a company in the AI-robotics segment of the food service sector has been granted such status. It allows Circus SE to deploy its autonomous cooking systems, CA-1 and CA-M, within U.S. defense programs and dual-use technology initiatives. The company stated that this certification aligns with its broader international expansion strategy.

Circus SE recently appointed Sasha Borovik, formerly a legal executive at Microsoft focused on global public sector business, as General Counsel. The company has indicated that the certification enhances its ability to pursue long-term contracts and partnerships in the public and defense sectors.
