UiPath Enables Cross-Platform Agent Orchestration with Microsoft Copilot Integration

by Pieter Werner

UiPath has expanded its integration with Microsoft Copilot Studio, enabling developers to orchestrate Copilot agents directly alongside UiPath and third-party agents using UiPath Maestro. The announcement comes ahead of the Microsoft Build conference, where UiPath is exhibiting.

With this update, developers can embed UiPath automations and AI agents into Microsoft Copilot Studio and manage Copilot agents from UiPath Studio. UiPath Maestro coordinates these agents across systems, allowing automation of complex workflows that span cloud platforms, legacy software, and human input.

UiPath positions this as part of its strategy to support an open automation ecosystem. Unlike platforms that restrict cross-system interaction, UiPath says its tools enable developers to work across technologies without being limited by vendor boundaries.

Organizations using both Microsoft Copilot Studio and UiPath report gains in efficiency. Johnson Controls combined UiPath agents with Power Automate and achieved a 500% return on investment, saving an estimated 18,000 hours annually by automating document review tasks.

The integration also supports running LangGraph agents on the UiPath Platform without code changes. Developers can use Python-based tools while gaining access to UiPath features like governance and security. A new UiPath UI Agent, in private preview, adds support for navigating desktop interfaces using computer vision and autonomous planning.

UiPath and Microsoft are also expanding access to UiPath’s automation tools in Microsoft 365 and Teams. Additional integrations include Azure Model Catalog (MCP) access and support for AI models from Microsoft’s AI Foundry within the UiPath platform.
