Universal Robots has announced the appointment of Technicon as a global Certified Solution Partner (CSP) for the pharmaceutical industry. Technicon, based in Denmark, has worked with Universal Robots since 2019 as a distributor and systems integrator. The company specializes in the in-house design, development, and production of automation solutions, with a particular focus on applications in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. Technicon’s automation systems incorporate UR’s collaborative robots (cobots), including the UR3e model, into processes such as fill-and-finish, lab quality control, packaging, and assembly.
UR stated that Technicon’s designation as a CSP marks an expansion of the companies’ partnership, enabling broader deployment of UR-based automation solutions across global pharmaceutical operations. According to UR President Jean Pierre Hathout, Technicon’s approach to integration includes end-to-end project management, from design through deployment and ongoing service, with an emphasis on compliance and performance in regulated environments.
Technicon CEO Casper Hansen described the CSP designation as aligned with the company’s growth strategy, positioning the firm to offer automation solutions to a wider range of international pharmaceutical manufacturers. Technicon will also continue providing UR-based automation systems to domestic industrial clients in Denmark.
One of the company’s solutions, the Glove & Gown Sampling Robot (GGSR), utilizes a UR3e cobot and is designed for wall-mounted installation in pharmaceutical environments, supporting sampling procedures with a vision-guided system.
