Westwell Unveils Autonomous Freight Technology at Paris Showcase

by Pieter Werner

Westwell has introduced its autonomous logistics technologies in Europe with a demonstration at Logicor’s Garonor Park in Paris. The showcase featured the company’s fully autonomous electric Q-Truck and related intelligent systems as part of its broader initiative to promote automated and sustainable freight operations across the region.

At the event, Westwell presented its Q-Truck, a cabinless electric vehicle developed for enclosed logistics environments. The Q-Truck operates using a combination of AI cameras, LiDAR, and sensors to carry out autonomous functions such as navigation, positioning, and control. With a towing capacity of up to 75 tons and a range of 150 kilometers, it is designed for continuous, round-the-clock operations. The vehicle is already in commercial use in countries including the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Malaysia, Egypt, and Mexico.

The demonstration also included the E-Truck, a heavy-duty new energy vehicle capable of switching between autonomous and manual driving modes. This hybrid functionality is aimed at supporting clients who are gradually transitioning to full autonomy.

To support operations in warehouse environments, Westwell showcased Wellbot, a robot system equipped for autonomous cargo handling and sorting. The company’s autonomous logistics offerings are integrated through its proprietary Loopo platform, which links transport and warehouse systems via AI and real-time data processing to optimize multi-modal logistics workflows.

The proof-of-concept deployment at Garonor Park forms part of a collaboration with Logicor, a European logistics real estate operator. Logicor has allocated 1,200 square meters within its Paris park for this initiative. Future developments will include further testing and market engagement efforts in partnership with Logicor. The company reports that its autonomous logistics solutions are currently in use across 28 countries and regions, supporting operations in ports, air cargo terminals, manufacturing sites, and other logistics settings.
