Luca Bertuzzi, Technology Editor at Euractiv, has publicly released the final text of the AI Act. The document, presented in a four-column format, was shared with EU countries just a day prior to Bertuzzi’s disclosure. This precedes a discussion within the Telecom Working Party, a technical body of the EU Council, and a formal adoption at the ambassador level (COREPER) scheduled for February 2.
Last week, members of the European Parliament reached a political deal with the Council on the AI Act. This bill aims to ensure that AI in Europe is safe, respects fundamental rights and democracy, and allows businesses to thrive and expand. This agreement indicates the likely shape of the final version of the AI Act.
