Researchers at North Carolina State University have developed a stretchable strain sensor that has a combination of sensitivity and range, allowing it to detect even minor changes in strain with greater range of motion than previous technologies. The researchers demonstrated the sensor’s utility by creating new health monitoring and human-machine interface devices.

Study: ‘Robots driving U.S. co-workers to substance abuse, mental health issues’
A University of Pittsburgh study suggests that while American workers who work alongside industrial robots are less likely to suffer physical injury, they are more likely to suffer from adverse mental health effects — and even more likely to abuse drugs or alcohol.
IBM announced it will be selling its healthcare data and analytics business, currently a key part of Watson Health, to investment firm Francisco Partners. The assets acquired by Francisco Partners include extensive and diverse data sets and products, including Health Insights, MarketScan, Clinical Development, Social Program Management, Micromedex, and imaging software.
