Pudu Robotics, a commercial service robotics manufacturer, has announced completion of a Series C3 financing round raising more than US$15 million. The financing round was exclusively invested by Puhua Capital, with Taihecap continuing to serve as the exclusive financial advisor. The new funds will be mainly used to build a new production base for Pudu Robotics in a move to expand production capacity and develop products for commercial cleaning scenarios.

Sales of professional service robots rose by an impressive 37% in 2021. By region, the strongest growth came from Europe with a market share of 38% followed by North America with 32% and Asia with 30%. At the same time, sales of new consumer service robots grew by 9%, according to the “World Robotics 2022 – Service Robots” report, issued by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR).

Savioke, manufacturer of service robots for room service and other deliveries to the hospitality industry announced that Seaview Investors has added a Relay Service Robot to each of its hotels. Savioke’s service robots are already installed in several hundreds of hotels and have made more than 1,000,000 deliveries worldwide.

Halodi Robotics has signed an agreement to provide 140 humanoid robots to ADT Commercial, a U.S.-based provider of commercial security, fire, life safety and risk consulting services. This announcement is the result of the strategic partnership announced in April 2021 where Halodi Robotics secured an investment from ADT Commercial to develop a robot to complement their physical security solutions.

Service robot sales volumes surge as Covid-19 pandemic drives demand
Demand for service robots will grow at an accelerated pace in 2021, following 24% improvement in annual sales volumes in 2020. In a series of reports a research team of Strategy Analytics shows that the Covid-19 pandemic actually helped grow demand for service robots, particularly business-oriented service robots in 2020 and that growth will continue in coming years.
