Universal Robots announces partnership with technology integrator Denali
Universal Robots has announced a partnership with Denali Advanced Integration, a services and technology integrator. Denali has become Universal Robots’ biggest Certified Solution Partner (CSP). It is now expected to use its integration expertise and market reach to bring Universal Robots’ cobot technology to major business across the globe as part of its new Automation-As-A-Service (AaaS) portfolio.

According to the Future of Jobs Report 2023 by the World Economic Forum, almost a quarter of jobs (23%) are expected to change, with AI and robotics being the leading drivers of transformation. The report, based on a survey of 803 companies, estimates that employers anticipate 69 million new jobs to be created and 83 million eliminated among the 673 million jobs corresponding to the dataset, a net decrease of 14 million jobs, or 2% of current employment.

European Parliament reaches provisional deal on world’s first AI rulebook
Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) have agreed on a provisional political deal on regulating Artificial Intelligence (AI). The AI Act aims to control AI’s potential to cause harm and will be the world’s first AI rulebook. The agreement was reached after months of intense negotiations, and the EU lawmakers reached a political agreement on Thursday.

This way they try to identify principles for human-robot interaction that could improve how humans interact with autonomous vehicles and other forms of AI.

An international team led by scientists at the University of Sydney has demonstrated nanowire networks can exhibit both short- and long-term memory like the human brain. The research has been published in the journal Science Advances, led by Dr Alon Loeffler, who received his PhD in the School of Physics, with collaborators in Japan.
